Size & Fit

Get the fit right the first time.

Cut for an everyday fit with room to layer. If you're between sizes, size down for a closer line or stay true for ease over a knit — and the 30-day guarantee makes it easy to be sure.

How to measure

Measure a garment that already fits you well and lay it flat, or measure your body and compare to the Recommended column. All figures are in inches.

  • Chest / Bust — across the fullest part, 1" below the armholes.
  • Shoulder — seam to seam across the back.
  • Sleeve — centre back of the neck, over the shoulder, to the cuff.
  • Waist — across the narrowest point of the body.
  • Hem — straight across the bottom opening.
  • Back length — from the base of the collar seam to the hem.

The golden rule: a jacket's chest runs about 4–5" larger than your body chest (a touch less on the slimmer Moto) — that's the room the cut needs. Size up if you plan to layer a heavier knit underneath.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How should a leather jacket fit?
A leather jacket should sit close to the body without pulling. Aim for a clean line through the shoulders — the seam should land where your shoulder ends — with room for a light layer underneath and full movement in the arms; sleeves should reach the wrist bone, and the hem should sit at or just below the belt. It's meant to feel fitted, not loose, but you should never feel restricted across the back or shoulders.
I'm between sizes — should I size up or down?
Size up. Leather should sit close, but a too-tight jacket strains the seams and limits movement, and lambskin gives only slightly with wear rather than stretching to fit. If you plan to layer over a sweater or shirt, sizing up is the safer call. Compare the garment measurements to a jacket you already own and like the fit of before deciding. If the fit isn't right, STREGA offers 30-day exchanges.
How do I measure myself for the right size?
Measure your chest, shoulders, and sleeve length, then compare them to the size chart on the product page. For chest, run a tape around the fullest part under your arms, kept level; for shoulders, measure across the back from the outer edge of one shoulder seam to the other; for sleeve, measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone with a slight bend in the arm. The most reliable method is to lay a jacket that fits you well flat, measure it, and match those numbers to the chart.
Will the leather stretch or loosen over time?
Slightly, and only where it's worn. Full-grain lambskin softens and moulds to your body with regular wear, easing at the elbows and shoulders, but it won't change size or go baggy — it shapes to you rather than stretching out. Choose the fit that works now with a light layer; it will only get more comfortable, not larger.
